Friday Facts.. Google’s first computer was housed in Lego bricks!

By Jamie

Right its finally Friday, and if you are anything like me you are about to go to the Pub soon.. but before you go.. here is a ‘fun fact’.. a new segment on our blog that we will bring you every Friday from now on..

Google was started  in 1995 as a PhD project  by Larry Page and Sergey Brin, Ph.D. students at Stanford University.  The research project was originally called ‘BackRub’ (I know a strange name right .?) but this would eventually morph into what we all now know and love Google.

The amazing thing is though, that the first Google computer at Stanford was housed in custom-made enclosures constructed from Lego bricks…. Mind = Blown.. We at will never look at the humble LEGO BRICK in the same way again…

Right is time for my Beer.. Hope you all have a great weekend…
